چکیده

The fate of phosphate added to fishponds and the inorganic processes of phosphorus fixation were studied in Israel. Conditions in these ponds are different from those of the more humid climatic zones in having alkaline water and high calcium content. In these condi tions most of the phosphorus added is precipitated as Ca3(P04)2. rctical aspects of this are discussed. The quantitative theobottom mud. Another factor in the phosphorus fixation is the This fixation in the alkaline conditions prevailing is believed to be partly due to anion exchange reaction of the colloids and partly to reaction with calcium carbonate and not with heavy metals. The fixation of phosphorus to the mud is affected by the composition of the mud, becoming greater when the content of calcium carbonate and total colloids is higher. Fixation of phosphorus is lower with the accumulation of organic matlor in the mud because of the low phosphorus adsorption capacity of organic colloids. Phosphorus fixation is higher when the mud is mixed with the water of the pond. In the fishpond this is done by the carp in its search for food in the bottom mud.

Seasonal variation of biotic and abiotic parameters in parallel neotropical fishponds.

The present study was carried out to evaluate the phytoplankton community and water quality in four parallel fishponds (FP1 to FP4) during one year. Some abiotic parameters of water column and phytoplankton was sampled in four sites, one in each fishpond. Similarity analysis showed that FP2 fishpond was markedly different for the others ponds with regard to phytoplankton community. Conductivity...

Nutrient Dynamics and Decomposition rate of Norway Spruce Needles in Stråsan and Lajim stands

Climate changes due to changes in a habitat leads to differences in the rate of decomposition and nutrient dynamics of leaflitters, which has many effects on the controlling factors of the decomposition process. In the present study, the rate of decomposition and nutrient dynamics of Norway spruce was evaluated for 363 days in the two forestation sites in the natural and foreign habitats, ...

Low water quality in tropical fishponds in southeastern Brazil.

Expansion of aquaculture around the world has heavily impacted the environment. Because fertilizers are needed to raise fish, one of the main impacts is eutrophication, which lowers water quality and increases the frequency of algal blooms, mostly cyanobacteria. To evaluate whether the water quality in 30 fishponds in southeastern Brazilian met the requirements of Brazilian legislation, we anal...

The Effect of Phytase Enzyme on the Performance of Broiler Flock (A-Review)

From the last few years, the inclusion of microbial phytase in poultry diets has increased significantly, mainly in response to heightened concerns over phosphorus pollution of the environment and as cheaper means to make phosphorus available to birds from phytate. Phytate is the major form of phosphorus, abundantly found in cereal grains, beans and oilseed meals used in poultry diet but the mo...
